Budapest Door | Budapest, Hungary

I captured this image over 20 years ago during a business trip to Europe, always bringing my camera along. Each morning, I would wander the streets, admiring the craftsmanship displayed in the great cities I visited before my meetings. For those unfamiliar, Buda and Pest together form Budapest. The historic West Bank (Buda) contrasts with the vibrant East Bank (Pest), are separated by the Danube River. I loved crossing the iconic Chain Bridge and exploring Buda’s streets, searching for artistic gems like this beautiful villa door.

Hwy 72 Barn | Huntsville to Scottsboro, AL

I have always been fascinated by old barns.  It doesn't matter where I am in the world, there are alway barns.  I'm often taken with there ability to stand for decades with what appears to be very little maintenance. I love the texture and patina they acquire over time.  I find them to be real works of art in themselves. In this image I have taken adiditional license with the original photograph, augmenting it's intrinsic beauty.

Barn | Gurley, AL

Driving through the back roads of Northern Alabama is like a treasure hunt.  The roads wind in and out dense trees and quickly open into expansive rural landscapes.  These landscapes are replete with old buildings which I love and amazing blue skies often filled with light cotton like clouds.
